Highline Trail

We took vans up The Going To The Sun Road to the Logan Pass visitor center were we launched our first long hike, 11 miles, 7 along the Highline Trail. The trail runs below The Garden Wall formation, along the western slope of the Continental Divide, with little elevation gain or loss. Narrow in places, chains were provided providing a reassuring attachment to the earth. The end of the chain, encased in an old, green, garden hose, is visible at the lower right. The trail curves around Haystack Butte ending at the Granite Park Chalet.
