This little bend in the river lies at Becker's. The Athabasca is cold, fed by glacial melt and emerald blue due to light scattering by suspended sediments. It's a braided river, twisting and turning, seeking its' level within a wider gravel bed. On the first morning a cow elk and I met - more to my surprise than hers.
